Late Offense Lifts Guayama to 2-1 Victory
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Guayama Hechiceros and the Loiza Vejigantes. Guayama won it, 2-1, in 11 innings. Guayama starter Mateo Tafoya was in command. Guayama reliever Vittorio Gambachini picked up the win, upping his record to 6-2. Narciso Vega was saddled with the loss. The first-place Hechiceros improved to 24-20.

The Hechiceros got a clutch hit from third baseman John Benson. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Hechiceros.

"We had the right guys up at the right times," said Loiza manager Luis Padilla. "We just didn't cash in."
