The Toa Alta Sonetistas picked up a win at Parquecito de Toa Alta, knocking off the Vega Baja Dulzones, 5-3. Starting pitcher Esteban Moreno played a key role in the triumph. With the win, the Sonetistas improved to 36-22.

Marcos González had a big 2-run home run for the Sonetistas in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Toa Alta leading 2-1 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from Gobrías Hernández and swatted a home run to center. It was his 22nd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Sonetistas ahead, 4-1.

González attributed the win to his team's "grittiness."
