A 5-RBI performance from the 20-year old first baseman Emeterio Guzmán helped the Vega Baja Dulzones beat the Dorado Defensores, 8-2. Joseph Scott got the win, improving to 9-5. He held the Defensores to 2 runs on 2 hits over 7.1 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 5. Vega Baja is now 37-29, Dorado 27-41.

With Vega Baja leading 4-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Guzmán batted against Dorado pitcher Shanley Kennedy. Guzmán hit a fastball to right for a grand slam home run. His 4th home run of the season put the Dulzones on top, 8-0.

"We didn't put up much resistance," said losing manager Belerofonte Pérez.
