The Corozal Maduritos picked up a win at Parquecito de Corozal, topping the Utuado Serranos, 5-3. On the mound for Corozal was left-hander Acasto Hernández. He played a principal role in the triumph. The winner was Hernández. He threw 8.0 innings allowing 3 runs. The loser was Félix Rivera. Dennis Conti closed the door for Corozal, picking up his 2nd save of the year.

Juan González had a big 2-run double for the Maduritos in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Corozal leading 2-1 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from 16-year old right-handed pitcher Félix Rivera and swatted a double to right. It was his 11th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Maduritos ahead, 4-1.

"There's a lot of fight left in this team," said González.

At 36-35, the Maduritos are currently 7th in the Liga José Padilla División Eugenio Ortiz.
