Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Rio Grande Cotorras and Juncos Valencianos.

The Rio Grande Cotorras got a magnificent effort from pitcher Carmelo Castillo, who kept Juncos hitters in check en route to a 2-1 Cotorras win at Coliseo Luis Morales. With the win, the Cotorras hiked their record to 28-17.

John Barnes, who finished 5th in the LH in hits with 192 in 1907, had a direct impact on the outcome. Barnes contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Rio Grande up, 2-1.

"If you chase it, you need to get it," said Rio Grande skipper Serapión Gutiérrez.
