Capitanes Stay Hot with Extra-Inning Win
The Mayaguez Capitanes faced a tough opponent in Anasco pitcher Godofredo Romero, but still scratched out a win at Estadio Noé Martínez by a final score of 4-3 in 14 innings. Romero went 8.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Mayaguez goes to 6-1 with the win.

Mayaguez used the timely hitting of Grant Johnson to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 14th inning to put the Capitanes on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Mayaguez manager Alberto Contreras attributed the win to "a little bit of this and a little bit of that."
