Sanisalvos Rally Past Canarios for 2-1 Series Lead
The Morovis Sanisalvos needed some last-minute heroics to do it, but ultimately emerged one game away from the Serie Eliminatoria. The Sanisalvos got the 4-3 win against the Hatillo Canarios in a walk-off at Coliseo Homero Contreras. Morovis left-hander Héctor Marroquín had a solid outing. He threw 8.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Sanisalvos a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Serie Preliminar.

In the bottom of the ninth, with two out and the game tied, 3-3, 24-year old second baseman Ricardo Mendoza won it for Morovis. With a runner on 3rd, Mendoza hit a 2-2 changeup from Semónides Cataño for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 4-3 win.

"No one can call baseball boring," said Sanisalvos manager Nereo Villanueva. "Not after a game like that."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Coliseo Homero Contreras in Morovis.
