Dulceros Edge Insolentes, 1-0, to Open SE
|
Cornelio Bazán and the Yabucoa Dulceros opened the Serie Eliminatoria in brilliant fashion, traveling to Fajardo and shutting out the host Insolentes at Estadio Rolando Figueroa, 1-0, to secure an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Bazán, the Dulceros right-hander, threw 8.1 innings of shutout ball.
Bazán gave Yabucoa a solid start. The right-hander allowed no runs on 6 hits over 8.1 innings.
"I'm happy we won," said Bazán. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Estadio Rolando Figueroa in Fajardo.
