The Sabana Grande Tejedores finished off the Las Piedras Menestrales, 5-2. Much of the credit belonged to designated hitter José Sarabia. Sarabia was 4 for 4 with 4 singles for the Tejedores. Sabana Grande, now 24-30, holds down third place in the Liga Hostos Suroeste.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the sixth, with the game tied, Wendell Ackerman was at the plate when Sabana Grande scored 2 on an error. The miscue enabled the Tejedores to go in front, 4-2.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Sabana Grande manager Gamaliel Torres.
