Álvarez Lifts Viajeros to 6-3 Triumph
With second baseman Pedro Álvarez leading the charge, the Barinas Viajeros defeated the Valencia Industriales, 6-3, at Campo de Barinas. Álvarez, who is tied for 4th in the LO in doubles with 23, went 3 for 3 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Barinas, now 46-63, holds down last place in the Liga Oeste.

Álvarez had an important at-bat with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom of the eighth, when he hit a 2-run single. The Viajeros went on to win.

In postgame remarks, Viajeros manager Brett Normand lauded Álvarez. "He's a good, young player. The future's bright for Pedro."
