Barinas Viajeros starter Curcio Arana led his team to victory over the Barquisimeto Crepusculares, 3-2. The right-hander was locked-in. Barinas is 49-67 and Barquisimeto, with the loss, 61-52.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Viajeros had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when left fielder Eneas Reyes hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Gustavo Cano and made the score 3-0, Viajeros. Reyes was 1-4.

"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Barquisimeto skipper Ernesto Camarillo.
