Coro picked up a win at Campo de Valencia, bumping off the Valencia Industriales, 2-1. Pitcher José Shaefer was a major reason the Bizantinos emerged victorious. With the win, Coro has a record of 68-48. Valencia falls to 46-69.
Coro used the timely hitting of Eladio Pacheco to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Bizantinos on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Coro manager Pablo Moreno.
