Caballeros Handle Maracaibo, Snag 5-1 Win
|
Not everyone stuck through the 36-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.
José Flores brought his A-game to help Merida defeat the Maracaibo Independientes, 5-1. With the win over Maracaibo, the Caballeros improved to 63-63.
Muño Nájera drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances for Merida. The two-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Práxedes Vega. It was his 53rd RBI of the season.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Nájera told the Merida Observer.
