A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Ciego de Avila Monjes Grises and Camaguey Tinajones.

The Ciego de Avila Monjes Grises knocked off the Camaguey Tinajones, 11-6, at Parque de Camaguey. Pablo Méndez was a big reason Ciego de Avila won. The left fielder was 2 for 4 with a triple and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Héctor Montes snagged the win in relief. He goes to 13-16 on the season. Lucio Contreras suffered the loss.

Ciego de Avila used the timely hitting of Marco Rodríguez to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Monjes Grises on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Rodríguez.

Camaguey has now lost 4 straight.
