Twice as Nice: Newport Extends Lead to 2-0 With Walk-off Win
The Newport Pilot Whales got a strong game from starter Jacinto Soto, but it was some clutch hitting that ultimately delivered the win.

The Pilot Whales took the 4-3 win over the Templeton Red Onions in Game 2 of the Division Series in a 9th inning walk-off. The win capped off a fine outing for the left-handed Soto. Soto threw 9.0 innings allowing 3 runs in the win, which gave the Pilot Whales a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

José Acosta was the walk-off hero for Newport. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Pilot Whales pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

After the game, Newport manager Pablo Morales applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.

The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, September 22nd , 1908 at The House of Sorrow in Templeton.
