Road Win Lifts Newport to 3-0 Lead in DS
Riding the 4-hit performance of designated hitter Derek Larkin, the Newport Pilot Whales got a road win against the Templeton Red Onions, 8-5, in Game 3 of the Division Series. Larkin was 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Pilot Whales, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 0.

The game turned with no one out in the top of the fifth. That's when Larkin hit a bases-clearing double off Silvio Torres. It propelled the Pilot Whales into the lead, 6-5.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Larkin told the Newport Daily.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The House of Sorrow in Templeton.
