Patillas Extends Series Lead in Low-Scoring Affair
|
Pablo García pitched a gem to help the Patillas Panaderos escape with a tight, 2-1 victory over the Florida Estribaciones in a low-scoring Campeonato Veraniego de Principiantes contest. The right-handed García threw 8.2 innings of 5-hit ball in the win, just enough for the Panaderos on a day when their offense dried up. Patillas now leads the best-of-7 series 2-0.
Florida could barely put a dent in García. The right-hander tossed 159 pitches over 8.2 innings for the Panaderos, allowing only 5 hits.
"Pablo was the star," said Patillas manager Tobías López.
Game 3 is scheduled for Tuesday at Parquecito de Patillas in Patillas.
