The stakes were high. Roberto Samora was ready.

The left-hander turned in a performance for the ages at Parquecito de Patillas, pitching a 12-inning, complete-game shutout against the Florida Estribaciones. Even so, Samora had to wait until the 12th inning to call it a win, as the Panaderos finally took the game in a walk-off. Samora allowed 6 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 16. The Game 5 win broke a tie in the best-of-7 series, giving Patillas a 3-2 lead over the Florida Estribaciones.

Patillas got a knockout punch from Hamish Smith. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 12th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"We had a good game plan," Samora said, "and we were able to execute it."

The next game is set to be played for Saturday, October 10th , 1908 at Parquecito de Florida in Florida.
