The Stuttgart Vergaser took down the Bolzano Dolomiti by the score of 13-4 and moved into a 1-1 tie in the Halbfinalen. The largest share of the credit belongs to Stuttgart starter Hubert Rohde, who threw 9.0 innings of 7-hit ball.

In the bottom of the 4th, Stuttgart took the lead on a grand slam home run by Mathias Weiss. At the time, the Vergaser were trailing 4-2, but Weiss's hit with two outs against Bolzano pitcher Verdiano Loria put them in front, 6-4.

"Hubert was exceptional and he pitched with a purpose," said Stuttgart manager Tarquino Santa Cruz.

Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday at Stadio degli Dolomiti in Bolzano.
