The rain did not keep Carolina and Rincon from finishing their game.
The Carolina Tumbabrazos beat the Rincon Ingenieros, 3-1. Carolina pitcher and San Juan, Puerto Rico, native Fructuoso Madrid led the way. Madrid, now 5-8, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 1, walking 6, and allowing 1 run. Carl Gillen earned the save for Carolina, his 10th.
Carl Gillen got a big out in the bottom of the ninth. The Ingenieros were trailing 3-1, but Rincon had the bases empty with no one out. Gillen threw a 0-1 curveball to Victoriano Cordero, who popped out.
