Halifax Breaks Through for First Win in National Championship of Canada; Now Trails 2-1
The Halifax Batteries have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Sault Ste. Marie Rapids, winning, 9-3, at Batteries Field. Batteries right-hander Federico Moya threw 9.0 innings of 7-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Batteries to 2-1 in the best-of-7 National Championship of Canada.

Doroteo López helped his team take an early lead with a 3-run home run. It came in the first inning, making the score 3-0, Batteries.

"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Halifax manager John Hatfield.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Batteries Field in Halifax.
