Sánchez Helps Fajardo Take Serie Preliminar Game 1
The Fajardo Insolentes powered past the visiting Las Piedras Menestrales, 3-1, in the opener of the Serie Preliminar at Estadio de los Insolentes. Fajardo starting pitcher Diego Sánchez threw 8.2 innings of 3-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Insolentes now lead the series 1-0.

Sánchez was in the zone all game. He frustrated Las Piedras hitters while giving the Insolentes 8.2 innings of quality work. Sánchez threw 149 pitches, allowing 3 hits and getting 6 punchouts.

"I was just taking it batter by batter, just enjoying the moment," said Sánchez.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Estadio de los Insolentes in Fajardo.
