Nayarit Takes 1-0 Series Lead with Walk-off Win
The Nayarit Mariachis took the first game of the Serie Preliminar in dramatic fashion, topping the Coahuila Carboneros with a ninth-inning walk-off, 3-2 victory. Carboneros pitcher Ben Downie had a productive, if futile, game. He threw 5.1 innings allowing 1 run.

Diego García was the walk-off hero for Nayarit. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Mariachis pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We had the right guys up at the right times," said Coahuila manager Esteban Bellán. "We just didn't cash in."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Parque de los Mariachis in Tepic.
