Twice as Nice: Ciudad Mexico Extends Lead to 2-0 With Walk-off Win
The Ciudad Mexico Volcanes got a strong game from starter Senén Tavárez, but it was some clutch hitting that ultimately delivered the win.

The Volcanes took the 5-4 win over the Puebla Mosqueteros in Game 2 of the Campeonato de las Ligas in a 9th inning walk-off. The win capped off a fine outing for the right-handed Tavárez. Tavárez threw 9.0 innings of 5-hit ball in the win, which gave the Volcanes a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Jorge Sorto was the walk-off hero for Ciudad Mexico. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Volcanes shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"We haven't stopped playing," Puebla manager Martín González said. "We didn't get this far to give up."

Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday at Estadio Municipal de Puebla in Puebla.
