Souza, Capitanes Take Dramatic Game 3 for 2-1 Series Lead
The Mayaguez Capitanes nearly wasted a strong game from starter Fausto Souza, but were saved by some timely hitting in a 12th inning walk-off win over the Utuado Arribenos today.

Souza pitched well in the 4-3 win at Coliseo Atlético del Oeste. He threw 11.0 innings of 7-hit ball. The win allowed Mayaguez to seize a 2-1 lead in the best-of-5 Serie Eliminatoria.

In the bottom of the 12th, Sócrates Ramírez knew he could end it with one good swing of the bat. And he did, hitting a run-scoring single off Utuado pitcher Miguel García.

"Sweet win for us, tough loss for them," said Souza.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Coliseo Atlético del Oeste in Mayagüez.
