Gerardo Pérez was not ready to let the Campeonato de las Ligas end.

With the Puebla Mosqueteros backed into a corner, the right-handed Pérez held off the Ciudad Mexico Volcanes. He threw 9.0 innings allowing 1 run. The win cuts the series deficit for the Mosqueteros to 3-2 in the best-of-7 series.

Guadalupe Peña drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Puebla. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the sixth inning, Peña, who led the LS in home runs with 7 in 1908, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Ciudad Mexico hurler Senén Tavárez, he grounded out, driving in 1 run to give the Mosqueteros a 2-1 lead.

"We squandered some opportunities," said Ciudad Mexico manager Tibulo Sandoval.

The next game is set to be played for Monday, November 16th , 1908 at Estadio Federal in Mexico City.
