Game 5 was big. So was Everton Stack.

The Naguabo starter rose to the occasion at Campo Atletico de San Benito, leading the Navegadores to a crucial 4-2 victory over the Patillas Cuervos. Stack threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball as the Navegadores won on the road to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 Campeonato de las Ligas.

The Navegadores benefited from a costly error in the top of the fourth. With Benigno Valdez at bat and Naguabo trailing 1-0, the Patillas miscue allowed Naguabo to plate 2 and take the lead, 2-1.

"Everton went out and did what we needed," said Naguabo manager Herminio Salcedo Díaz.

Game 6 is scheduled for Tuesday at La Timonera in Naguabo.
