Mayaguez pitcher Hortensio Galicia had a large part in his team subduing the Yabucoa Dulceros, 5-0. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. The win puts the Capitanes at 36-25, while the Dulceros drop to 32-31.

The Dulceros had trouble solving Galicia, who surrendered no runs on 2 hits over 8.2 innings.

"I thought we played a nice game," Galicia told the Mayaguez Daily. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
