Corsarios Stick Esqueletos with 4-3 Loss
|
Ricardo Chávez, who finished 4th in the LH in ERA with 1.77 in 1906, propelled his team to victory over the Vieques Esqueletos. The final score was 4-3, Quebradillas. Chávez, now 1-1, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 1, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. The Corsarios improved their record to 32-32 with the win over Vieques.
Bibiano Sarabia's at-bat in the bottom of the sixth was significant for the Corsarios. Coming to the plate with runners on 1st and 2nd and Quebradillas trailing 3-2, the Corsarios pinch hitter hit a run-scoring single.
