Ciales beat Patillas in a rain-soaked ballgame.

The Ciales Galanes picked up a win at Estadio Guerrero, topping the Patillas Cuervos, 12-3. On the mound for Ciales was right-hander Cosme Méndez. He played a principal role in the triumph. Méndez got the win, improving to 5-7. He gave up 4 hits and walked 4 over 8 innings. He allowed 2 runs.

The Galanes got a lift from third baseman Elía Huerta, who in the bottom of the second stroked a 2-2 cutter to center for a 2-run single. It was his 58th hit of the season and put the Galanes ahead, 4-0.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Huerta. "You've got to get results."

The Galanes go to 25-42 with the win.
