Cotorras Handed 3-2 Loss by Canovanas
|
The Canovanas Chupacabras and Rio Grande Cotorras played an entertaining game for Recinto Ramón Araujo patrons.
The Canovanas Chupacabras earned a close win over the Rio Grande Cotorras, thanks in part to Fernando Mota. The Canovanas right-hander, who finished 2nd in the LB in ERA with 1.34 in 1905, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. Mota yielded 2 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-1. Neo Berndsson picked up his 1st save of the season.
Anselmo Feij took Rio Grande hurler Tibulo Rodríguez deep in the bottom of the third. His 3-run home run put the Chupacabras on top, 3-0. In all, Feij had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"We'll kick back tonight and enjoy this win," said Feij.
The loss drops Rio Grande to 6-3.
