Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Morovis Sanisalvos take on the Orocovis Caciques.
Juvenal Calvario, who is tied for 4th in the LB in quality starts with 12, had a strong outing for the Morovis Sanisalvos against the Orocovis Caciques at Coliseo Homero Contreras. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 3-1 win. Calvario, the winner, moves to 6-5. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 2 walks.
Ricardo Mendoza had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for Morovis. He came through with a 2-run single to put Morovis in front, 2-1.
"I managed to get ahead of guys and keep them at bay," said Calvario.
The second-place Sanisalvos are now 23-31, the Caciques 17-33.
