Romeros 5-4 Winners Versus Cabo Rojo
|
The Hormigueros Romeros topped the Cabo Rojo Combatientes, 5-4, in Liga Betances action at Coliseo Eugenio Carvajal. The standout performance belonged to Hormigueros pitcher and San Juan, Puerto Rico, native Ricardo Elías. Hormigueros is now 32-38, Cabo Rojo 38-31.
Hormigueros took the lead, 3-2, on Albán Martínez's 2nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Cabo Rojo pitcher Elián Morales in the bottom of the seventh.
Hormigueros manager Isaac Cortés was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.
