Barceloneta Absorbs 4-3 Loss to Manati
|
The Barceloneta Marineros and Manati Acropolitanos provided some drama for the home crowd.
Manati left-hander Sixto Turcios pitched his team to victory over the Barceloneta Marineros at Recinto Atlético Fabián Villarreal. The final score was 4-3. Turcios, now 11-17, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing 3 runs.
Amérigo Sandez, who is tied for 7th in the LH in extra base hits with 36, had a timely hit in the bottom of the fifth inning. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, the Manati center fielder hit a run-scoring single. That put the Acropolitanos in front, 4-3.
"Sixto was really locked in," said Manati manager Julio Cantú.
With this game in the books, Manati is 49-55, Barceloneta 66-43.
