Poetas 3-2 Winners Over Quebradillas
Toa Alta pitcher Herodes Cabrera did his part in helping his team beat the Quebradillas Corsarios, 3-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Cabrera, who is tied for 10th in the LH with a 1.70 ERA, went the distance for Toa Alta. He gave up 2 runs on 9 hits. At 34-36, the Poetas claim second place in the Liga Hostos Metro Oeste.

Fernando Alvarado, who leads the LH in hits with 88, helped out the Toa Alta cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the second baseman went 1 for 3 with a double.

Alvarado was in a reflective mood after the contest. He told the Toa Alta Herald, "Every game is it's own challenge. That's what keeps the competitive fire alive."
