Menestrales Saddle Brillantes with 3-1 Loss
|
The Las Piedras Menestrales picked up a win at Estadio Felipe Esquibel, downing the Naranjito Brillantes, 3-1. On the mound for Las Piedras was left-hander Telégono Soto, who played a pivotal role in the win. Soto picked up the win for Las Piedras, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 8-7. Boanerges Murillo, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 12th save.
The Menestrales got a lift from right fielder Fernando Burciaga, who in the top of the fifth stroked a 0-2 sinker to right for a run-scoring single. It was his 74th hit of the season and put the Menestrales ahead, 3-1.
"I felt good out of the gates," said Soto.
The Menestrales saw their record improve to 38-38.
