Santa Isabel Triumphs with Late Surge
|
The excitement level at Estadio Nuevo de Santa Isabel reached a crescendo in the final at-bat.
The Santa Isabel Corceles did just enough to sneak past the Moca Rebeldes, 3-2, at Estadio Nuevo de Santa Isabel. Santa Isabel pitcher Juan Leyva, in particular, had a standout performance. The misery continues for the Rebeldes, who have now dropped 12 in a row.
The Corceles got a clutch hit from right fielder Vuthy Quon. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Corceles.
"We're learning some lessons in the school of hard knocks," philosophized losing manager Nerón Jiménez.
