Acropolitanos Get Clutch Win Versus Quebradillas
|
The Quebradillas Corsarios and Manati Acropolitanos provided some drama for the home crowd.
The Manati Acropolitanos handed the Quebradillas Corsarios a 5-4 defeat at Recinto Atlético Fabián Villarreal. Center Fielder Amérigo Sandez starred for Manati. He was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Otto Hess earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. His record is now 4-3.
Jaime Raya drew 1 walk for Manati. With no one out and the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, Raya had a clutch at-bat. Facing Quebradillas hurler Rafael Torres, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to give the Acropolitanos a 5-4 lead.
"You never take a win for granted in this league," said Sandez.
The Acropolitanos are now 33-38.
