Gurabo pitcher Alfonso Luján did his part in helping his team beat the Ponce Senores, 2-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Gurabo goes to 40-36, Ponce to 51-25.
Making an impact for the home team was Jacques Ceinture. In the bottom of the first, the five-time All-Star had a run-scoring ground out. That made the score 2-0, Tainos.
"I didn't want to let them take the game from my hands," said Luján.
