The Lajas Marcianos defeated the Lares Fieles, 4-2, in 20 innings in Liga Betances action at Estadio de Lares. Lajas pitcher Hestio Apodaca had a standout performance. Dalmacio Nájar, 9-7, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 4.2 innings.

The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Getulio Díaz came to bat in the top of the 20th. Facing Lares pitcher Elián Morales, he hit a first pitch sinker for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Lajas on top, 4-2.

Marcianos manager Nicasio Carrillo praised Apodaca after the game. "I keep telling everyone," he said, "'Don't go to sleep on this kid.'"

Lajas now has a record of 43-38 with the win.
