The Guaynabo Libertadores picked up a win at Jardines de Guaynabo, downing the Juncos Valencianos, 8-2. On the mound for Guaynabo was right-hander Mateo Hernández, who played a pivotal role in the win. Hernández went the distance for Guaynabo. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. The Libertadores, at 25-56, sit in third place in the Liga Betances Metro Central.
Guaynabo got a lift in the bottom of the fourth from right fielder Mateo Flores, who hit a changeup to right for a bases-clearing triple. His 4th triple of the season put the Libertadores up, 3-0.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Flores said after the game.
