Guabaleros Win Nail-Biter, 4-3

The Comerio Guabaleros did just enough to secure a victory over the Santa Isabel Corceles, 4-3, in 16 innings at Estadio de Santa Isabel. Nobody did more than pitcher Helio González. Comerio reliever Helio González got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Esteban Rolón was tagged with the loss. Ildefonso Bolívar closed the door for Comerio, picking up his 8th save of the year.
Comerio used the timely hitting of Semónides Reséndez to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 16th inning to put the Guabaleros on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 8 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Santa Isabel manager Luis Mejía.
The win puts Comerio at 41-41 this season.
