Rio Grande picked up a win at Recinto Atlético del Noreste, bumping off the Juncos Valencianos, 13-6. Pitcher Ezequiel Vásquez was a major reason the Cotorras emerged victorious. The first-place Cotorras have a record of 53-32.

Tito Alvarado had a big hit for Rio Grande in the bottom of the third inning. With Rio Grande leading 4-3, Alvarado hit a 2-run double. It was his 8th double of the season and put the Cotorras up, 6-3.

"Winning never gets old," said Alvarado.
