Jinetes Pick Up 4-1 Win Against Las Piedras
|
Conditions were not ideal but Toa Baja and Las Piedras were able to put their game in the books.
Toa Baja Jinetes starter Renato Díaz pitched his team past the Las Piedras Menestrales, 4-1. Toa Baja, now 52-37, holds down first place in the Liga Hostos Metro Oeste.
The Jinetes got a big at-bat from catcher Jorge Barraza. For the game, Barraza went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Toa Baja a 2-1 lead.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Barraza said.
