The Naranjito Brillantes picked up a win at Parque de los Brillantes, topping the Guayama Hechiceros, 6-3. On the mound for Naranjito was right-hander Armando Gutiérrez. He played a principal role in the triumph. In 7.1 innings, Gutiérrez surrendered 9 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed 3 runs. Teodoro Morales finished to wrap up his 16th save.
Naranjito grabbed control in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and a runner on 3rd, Adelino Vásquez delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 4-3, in favor of the Brillantes.
"Good, blue-collar kind of win," said Brillantes manager Báquides Zamora.
The Brillantes are now 42-44, while the Hechiceros fall to 31-57.
