Gabriel Acuña, who is on pace for 221 strikeouts this season, played a key role in a gritty 2-1 San Juan Metropolitanos win against the Salinas Pescadores. Acuña got the win, improving to 14-9. He gave up 7 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. He allowed 1 run. The save was credited to Íñigo Espinosa, his 7th.

The Pescadores had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Metropolitanos going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old center fielder Flavio Ledezma came to the plate. Ledezma hit a run-scoring double on a 0-2 changeup from Salinas hurler José López. It was Ledezma's 18th double of the year.
