Soles Earn Late Win
There was no shortage of dramatics at Estadio Pedro González.

The Arecibo Lobos could not turn a fine performance from catcher Paulino Franco into a win. Instead, the Luquillo Soles prevailed, 8-7. Franco went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win belonged to Ramón Chávez in relief. His record improves to 17-11. Esteban Rolón took the loss for Arecibo.

Batting in the bottom of the ninth, 24-year old second baseman Caley Murphy had a real shot to win the game. Arecibo pitcher Esteban Rolón was determined not to let it happen. But with one out, Murphy hit a run-scoring single. The Soles had a walk-off triumph.

"This game was intense," Murphy said, postgame.

The second-place Soles now have a win-loss record of 41-55.
