Hormigueros parlayed a decent outing from starter Víctor Hugo Velásquez into a solid win over the Ceiba Picudos. The final score was 5-4. Astolfo González came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2.2 innings. His record now stands at 6-1. Ricardo Elías collected save number 3.

Had Gael Parkinson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Parkinson hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Romeros.

"I was a little disappointed," said Ceiba manager Adam Wilson. "We could've and should've scored more runs."

The win puts the Romeros at 51-50, while the Picudos drop to 41-57.
