The Cayey Cornupetas picked up a win at La Plaza de Cayey, knocking off the Gurabo Tainos, 3-2. On the mound for Cayey was left-hander Graciano Marcano. He played a key role in the triumph. In 7.1 innings, Marcano surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 4. He allowed 2 runs. Cayey now has a record of 54-47 with the win.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Cornupetas had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when center fielder Tadeo Yerena hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Gaspar García and made the score 2-1, Cornupetas.
