Canarios Drop 9-3 Decision
|
The first-place Naguabo Navegadores took on the Hatillo Canarios in front of a spirited crowd.
The Naguabo Navegadores picked up a win at La Timonera, knocking off the Hatillo Canarios, 9-3. On the mound for Naguabo was right-hander Ted Balloon. He played a key role in the triumph. Balloon, who finished 3rd in the LB in wins with 29 in 1904, went the distance for Naguabo. He gave up 3 runs on 8 hits.
Wally Balk drove in one run against the Canarios. In the bottom of the first inning, he reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 1 run, putting Naguabo in front, 1-0.
"We took home the win," said Balk. "What's not to like?"
The first-place Navegadores have won 4 in a row.
